This was my 3rd visit, and I ordered the omakase course with pairing ($125+ per person, plus tip). I was drawn to this restaurantโ€™s unique concept of Japanese x Mexican fusion. On my first visit, I was truly impressed by the creativity, the quality of the dishes, and the use of premium ingredients. Since then, Iโ€™ve returned about every six months โ€” for my 2nd and now 3rd visit. But with each visit, the Japanese elements have gradually disappeared, and this time the meal was essentially just seafood with a Mexican-style sour-spicy seasoning, dish after dish. Every course arrived cold, the flavors felt repetitive, and honestly, I was disappointed. The ingredients also lacked the premium quality I remembered from my first visit. Also, the course menu was mostly made up of vegetables and glass noodles, for this price, thatโ€™s just not acceptable. We paid close to $500, and for that price, this quality was simply disappointing. I probably wonโ€™t be coming back. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento, so itโ€™s especially disappointing since I brought my family along this time.

This restaurant had been on my radar for a while and I was surprised with a birthday reservation, but had no real idea of what to expect. I looked at the menu and decided on the Omakase experience with the sake pairing. When we first got there, I immediately loved the decor. Itโ€™s very inviting and relaxing. We started with the Shishito Pepper special which had a killer gochujang and ponzu sauce. The Omakase experience was five courses and each were phenomenal. There was a scallop tostada that I am still thinking about. Highly recommend doing either the wine or sake pairing since the server (Reese) was phenomenal and so knowledgeable. I had a very narrow understanding of sake going in and it was fun learning a little about the various pours. The service here was a notch above most high end restaurants and I felt like they were really on top of it. Overall had a fantastic experience and would definitely go again!

Me and my husband were passing through Sacramento and decided to indulge in the Omakase experience here with wine pairing. It was phenomenal. The wines were thoughtfully curated to complement each flavorful dish. We decided to treat ourselves to some happy hour oysters after, and the sauces were so unique and delightful. We decided to split an additional cocktail after realizing they also will create a specialty cocktail of our choosing. We love a good gin Alexander for dessert and Maverick made a rendition of one for us that I don't forsee being topped. This place gave us a reason to pass through again. If you ever need a treat yourself experience, I highly recommend Omakase Por Favor. The food and staff are amazing!

I stopped by for happy hour after seeing great reviews and left feeling let down. The margarita was fine. We ordered the pรขtรฉ and rillettes, and both were pretty bland, though the crostini itself was good. The tostilocos were small and overpowered by chamoy, and the ceviche lacked the bright, lime-forward flavor youโ€™d expect. The oysters were good, and our server was very friendly. Was planning to try their tostadas too, but after the disappointing apps, we chose to move on. The ambiance had potential, but for a Wed evening the place was completely empty, which felt odd given the hype. Overall, I was let down. Iโ€™m sure the omakase menu is a better experience, but this visit didnโ€™t make me want to come back.

Omakase Por Favor in Midtown absolutely delivered. My wife and I went last night planning to do the full omakase, but since it runs about 90 minutes and we were short on time, we ordered ร  la carte instead. Zero regrets. We got the classic tostada, atun tostada, unagi oysters, classic oysters on the half shell, and tuna tataki. Every dish was dialed in. The oysters were pristine and briny, presented beautifully on ice with bright accompaniments. The unagi oysters were next-levelโ€” smoky, rich, balanced with acidity and fresh greens. Both tostadas were standouts: crisp tortillas loaded with impeccably fresh tuna and shrimp, vibrant cilantro, sliced peppers, and layered sauces that added creaminess and heat without overpowering the fish. The tuna tataki was seared perfectly, still cool and silky in the center. My wife had champagne, I went with a Modelo, and we walked out full and happy at about $150 total including tip. For the quality and creativity here, that's exceptional value. Service deserves mention too. From the maรฎtre d' to our server, everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. No pretension, just people who care about hospitality. We'll be back to do the fu
